“When running back Rudi Johnson visited the Detroit Lions on Monday after being cut Saturday by the Cincinnati Bengals, someone stole his bags from outside CEO Matt Millen’s office, according to profootballtalk.com.
The perpetrator was Tatum Bell, who lost his job after Johnson and the team worked out a deal, reports PFT’s Mike Florio, who also is a Sporting News contributor.
An in-house surveillance system revealed that Bell took the bags, a source told Florio. The source also said Bell took the bags to the home of a female acquaintance and asked her to keep them for a while. When confronted, Bell said he thought the bags belonged to someone he knew.
Johnson retrieved the bags, and Florio reports that no charges will be filed against Bell.”
Haha, what a fall it has been for Tatum Bell. One year ago he was coming off back-to-back productive seasons in Denver. Then he gets traded because Coach Shanahan believe running backs grow on trees in the Rocky Mountains (and apparently they do). Now Bell is teamless and the worst part is that this “run” would certainly bring up Bell’s yards/game average from last year and, also depending on how many bags were jacked, surpasses the amount of touchdowns he had with the Lions last year (1 TD).
