Sammy Sosa did steroids in 2003. Big surprise. The guy who corked his bat the very same year. What a shocker. What should be more surprising is the say Commissioner Bud Selig is reacting to this information becoming public.
Selig is apparently furious that the names on this list are slowly being leaked. I guess I would be pissed to if under my watch the game that was so affectionately called America’s pastime was sullied. Well, I guess it was way more than sullied. The innocence of the game was straight-up destroyed. For that reason Bud just wants to forget about the whole era and would like nothing more than for us to do the same.
A decade ago Selig was yucking-it-up while McGuire and Sosa were launching an inhuman number of long bombs. That short ten years later, Selig can not be looked at as an enabler for those who ruined the game of baseball.
