That’s correct. Hang Time’s own Reggie Theus has been fired by the Sacramento Kings. This comes only ten years after being replaced by Coach Mike Katowinski (Dick Butkus) at Deering High.

hangtimelogoMore importantly I forgot that Anthony Anderson was on Hang Time. Also, while undergoing the steps of my in-depth research I found out that Jay Hernandez was also in the later seasons and he ended up marrying the main character Julie.

I’ve always wanted some new episodes of Hang Time–I guess now is our chance.

ultimate-fighte-finale-mir-and-nog

This season of The Ultimate Fighter was much improved over the last. The fighters seemed better thus the competition was better. At the same time there were much more entertaining antics going on in the house. No, not just Junie’s drunken (and sober) outbursts but an overall fun atmosphere from the cast.

I didn’t get a chance to give a preview for the finale that took place on Saturday but I wish I had; here were the picks I made:

fight-picksEight out of ten; not too shabby.

Anthony Johnson had the knockout of the night.

rumblekick

The best part of this one was that it was a rematch from this summer when Burns took home a controversial win after poking Johnson in the eye repeatedly. The last of which required surgery. Johnson was a good sport through the ordeal. In pre-fight interviews Burns came across as a real prick. I was very happy for ‘Rumble’ when this head kick found it’s mark.

In the light heavyweight final, I jumped onto the Vinny Magalhaes bandwagon even though I am a Bader fan. This one did not pay off for me. Bader was able to stop Vinny with a big overhand right not much more than 2 minutes into the very first round.

In the lightweight final, Efrain was anointed as a big underdog against Nover but I had my money on Efrain all the way. He is a all-american wrestler with a big heart. In Efrain’s preliminary fights he showed that he knew how to win and finish fights in the process. Although he couldn’t finish Nover he dominated.

Overall, the UFC put on two good shows in the span of 4 days and all for free.

dorchester-eagles-pop-warner-disneyA couple of Pop Warner football teams were kicked out of their Disney hotel in Florida over the weekend. One team was from Massachusetts and the other Rhode Island.

The best part is that Roger Goodell and the NFL provided the Dorchester, Massachusetts team with about $4,000 to travel down to Florida.

Here is how it went down via the Boston Herald:

Dorchester Eagles may get booted from playoffs for hotel fight
Boston Herald

The Dorchester Eagles, who made it all the way to the playoffs in Florida only to be kicked out of a Disney hotel for fighting with another team, could face team-ending sanctions by Pop Warner for the pigskin pushing match.

No word yet on fines and suspensions coming down from Goodell and the league offices but rumor has it that 11 to 15 year old players signing bonuses allowances could be rescinded.

werder_edTerrell Owens wants to see Ed Werder’s press credentials; questions his sources and integrity. A man with a mustache this prominent can not be a liar. I didn’t think it to be possible to feel bad for the Cowboys and T.O but I find myself on the verge of doing so.

UPDATE:

Via AA, here is NBC’s interview with the three amigos after the big win:

UPDATE 2:

Hilarious; a Cowboys fan heckles Werder and his assistants come over to try to stop him:
