Survivor League Pick

Final week in the NFL regular season, final week in my Survivor League.  As a reminder here were the rules:

Picks must be in midnight before first game of the week.
You must pick the moneyline winner, no spreads involved.
You cannot pick a team more than once.
A no-pick, late pick, or repeat pick is an automatic strike.
Winner take all.

So far here are my picks:
Week 1: Eagles over Rams, W 38-3
Week 2: Giants over Rams, W 41-13
Week 3: Bills over Raiders, W 24-23
Week 4: Panthers over Falcons, W 24-9
Week 5: Titans over Ravens, W 13-10
Week 6: Redskins over Rams, L 17-19
Week 7: Texans over Lions, W 28-21
Week 8: Jets over Chiefs, W 28-24
Week 9: Bears over Lions, W 27-23
Week 10: Cardinals over 49ers, W 29-24
Week 11: Dolphins over Raiders, W 17-15
Week 12: Steelers over Bengals, W 27-10
Week 13: Cowboys over Seahawks, W 34-9
Week 14: Patriots over Seahawks, W 24-21
Week 15: Colts over Lions, W 31-21
Week 16: Saints over Lions, W 42-7

This week I was going to take the Packers over the ever terrible Lions, but Green Bay has been playing far less than stellar, and the Lions will be fighting extra hard not to go out 0-16, which will be remembered far longer and carry more shame than a 1-15 season.  Because of this, I chose to go with the Buccaneers over the Raiders.  The Bucs are playing for playoffs still, Oakland has nothing to gain and nothing to lose regardless of the outcome of this game, and lets face it, the Bucs are a thousand times better than the Raiders.  So my recommendation this week would be the Bucs if you can still use them.

Also as a side note, I control my own destiny in this league, if I win this week the worst I can do is split the money with the other two one-loss teams.

Well as we enter the final week of the regular season of the NFL, I have only 2 suggested lines.

NY Giants moneyline over the Minnesota Vikings (+245).  I feel like the way the Giants have been playing as of late, it is tough to tell who will show up, but with a big win over Carolina last week, I think they have a little momentum and +245 on a team that has been so good this year is tough to pass up.

Carolina Panthers -2 against the New Orleans Saints (even).  I think Carolina takes this by a touchdown, but with a spread of 2 they are covered with a field goal anyway.

Survivor Pool Picks

So I have no idea why I did not start posting this earlier, but I am involved in a survivor pool, rules are as follows.

Picks must be in midnight before first game of the week.
You must pick the moneyline winner, no spreads involved.
You cannot pick a team more than once.
A no-pick, late pick, or repeat pick is an automatic strike.
Winner take all.

So far here are my picks:
Week 1: Eagles over Rams, W 38-3
Week 2: Giants over Rams, W 41-13
Week 3: Bills over Raiders, W 24-23
Week 4: Panthers over Falcons, W 24-9
Week 5: Titans over Ravens, W 13-10
Week 6: Redskins over Rams, L 17-19
Week 7: Texans over Lions, W 28-21
Week 8: Jets over Chiefs, W 28-24
Week 9: Bears over Lions, W 27-23
Week 10: Cardinals over 49ers, W 29-24
Week 11: Dolphins over Raiders, W 17-15
Week 12: Steelers over Bengals, W 27-10
Week 13: Cowboys over Seahawks, W 34-9
Week 14: Patriots over Seahawks, W 24-21
Week 15: Colts over Lions, W 31-21

This week I am taking the Saints over the Lions.  As of now I am 14-1, hoping to move to 15-1.  So if you are still alive in a suicide pool or a survivor pool, my recommendation would be to go with the Saints if they are available.

This week there really aren’t any lines that jump out at me, but I am taking the following two:

Carolina Panthers moneyline over the New York Giants (+160). The Giants have been less than their usual stellar lately, and Carolina is coming off a couple big wins.

Atlanta Falcons +3 against the Minnesota Vikings (even). If this was in Atlanta, I would take the moneyline (+150) but I am not that confident in Atlanta away from home.

So this week I didn’t really find any good lines, but it wouldn’t be the same watching football without some small risk.

I am not necessarily recommending these lines, but these are the lines I am taking this week.

Minnesota Vikings moneyline over the Arizona Cardinals (+155). I feel this game could go either way, so this is a risky bet.

Denver Broncos moneyline over the Carolina Panthers (+270). This one is almost guaranteed not to pan out, but I love the Broncos, and if it does, it will hit big.

Again, not recommending either of these bets, but I always enjoy wagering a little.

So since my update the Miami Buffalo game has moved to a 1 point spread, not that much movement, but now Miami is losing 1 point, glad I got my money on them while it was a pick-em.

This week I am only going with only 2 lines.

Jacksonville moneyline over the Bears (+250). Not saying it is anywhere near a safe bet, Jacksonville has been playing terribly, but eventually they need to win, and who better to pull it off against than the Bears, another team that is impossible to tell how they will do each week.

The second line is Dallas moneyline over Pittsburgh (+155). Again it is a risky moneyline, Dallas and Pittsburgh are both teams that are getting back on track from rough spots, both QB’s are getting hot, Pittsburgh’s D is phenomenal but at the same time TO and Romo have been clicking.

What I did was parlay the two together, even a measly $5.00 bet on the parlay would win you $40.00 if Jax and the Cowboys both win. Both very possible wins, and risking 5 to win 40? Why not?

At the moment the upcoming Buffalo vs. Miami NFL game this Sunday is listed as a Pick. To me this screams Miami.
