I thought Michigan State was going beat a #1 or a third consecutive game. The economy was going to rally. Ford, GM and Chrysler were going to prosper. At least that’s what the tele told me…
I have been prospering in other ways this March and April as I have had a good tourney as far as picking games goes. I have about a dozen wins to only one loss in my actual bets. For the bracket I filled out I have also been successful. I am in first place in each of my three pools. The problem is I had Louisville winning it all so for a full 2 weeks I’ve known that my chances of winning were slim or none in each of these pools.
I liken this to a head-to-head fantasy league where you are the best team all year and then the week the playoffs hit you run into a jugernaut, last playoff seed team, that can’t be stopped. Clearly this has happened to me. Once again that’s how I feel today. I had three of the final four teams but not the one that matter–the one I picked to win.
In the end the best team in the country won the tourney. And, well, I suppose the best bracket won my pools. I guess.
